Dear Montlake School parents and staff,

We are very close to meeting our goal, but need one last procurement push to put us where we need to be.

The procurement deadline has been extended to Thursday, March 27. That gives us a week to wrap up auction donations.

Now's the time to reach out to all the local businesses you patronize: restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, office supplies, kids activity centers, tax preparers, dentists, car washes, coffee shops, video rentals... many of these businesses gladly support local schools.

Of course you can always contribute to the auction by personally donating your time and talent. Some examples of individual service donations: pie-making lessons, tutoring, art consultation, personal coaching, knitting class, ice-skating lesson, weekend pet boarding, and a loaned truck for dump runs!

Together we can make the 2008 auction a great success - and ensure the future of the enhanced educational programs that make Montlake School great.

Thank you for your efforts.... we're almost there!  ~ The 2008 Auction Team

P.S. Need more procurement forms? You can pick them up in the school office.

We Need Help on the Playground!!!  Mot, our wonderful playground supervisor, has moved on to bigger and better things and we are now in desperate need of playground help!  If you can volunteer to help supervise the children on the playground, even if only for one day a week or twice a month, we would be ever so thankful to you!  We really are desperate!  If you are (or know if someone who is) looking for a part-time job - the hours are 11:45 to 1:15 Monday through Friday.  Please call Debbi at 252-3300 or email her at dthresher@seattleschools.org  if you can help or would like to apply.

Learn About Endangered Animals From Team II!

Team II has just completed an exciting project learning about endangered animals. Each student learned about the "web of life" and then studied an endangered animal.  The second graders used their facts to compose a song and the third graders created a short movie.  Each class will be bringing home an Endangered Animal CD that were written and sung by second graders.  You will also see a collection of movies on a DVD written and produced by third graders.  Watch for these exciting projects to come home with your child.  Share them with your family and everyone can learn about endangered animals!  Room 2 projects have already been sent home. Projects created by Rooms 8 and P3 will be going home before spring break!  Enjoy!
